PM Modi in Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated projects worth Rs 33,600 crore in the ‘Samriddhi Samriddhi’ program in Bhavnagar. He emphasized the INS Vikrant, Port Development, Ship Building and major reforms in the direction of self -sufficient India.
Gandhinagar. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs 33,600 crore at the ‘Samriddhi Samriddhi’ program held in Bhavnagar on Saturday. He also thanked the entrepreneurs of Port and Marine region for the MoU on Friday.
PM Modi said that the construction of ‘chip to ship’ will open the way for India’s self -sufficiency. Bhavnagar is becoming the center of maritime prosperity today.
Self-reliance is the key to developed India of 2047- PM Modi
The Prime Minister clearly stated that self -sufficiency is the solution to all the problems of India. He said that India has no enemy, but dependence on other countries is the biggest enemy. The more foreign dependence, the more the failure of the country.
He said that India will have to become self -sufficient for world peace, stability and prosperity. The future of 140 crore people of India cannot be left on the basis of others.
PM Modi’s message of ‘proudly tell this indigenous’
Prime Minister Modi called upon the people to proceed with the goal of an India-India India. He asked the traders of Gujarat to further strengthen the spirit of self -sufficient India by putting stickers of ‘proudly, this indigenous’ at their shops.
Port and cruise tourism development
PM Modi said that Mumbai International Cruise Station has been inaugurated and many schemes of port development are going on in Gujarat too. Ship building and recycling industries are growing rapidly at Alang and other places.
Indigenous shipbuilding and INS Vikrant
The Prime Minister said that today India does not want to depend on foreign ships. Earlier India used to pay 75 billion dollars (6 lakh crore rupees) to foreign shipping companies every year. But now India has built 40 indigenous ships including INS Vikrant. These ships have high quality Indian steel and other ingredients.
Maritime Reform and New Laws
The government has made major changes in 5 laws to give a new direction to maritime trade. Now large ships have got the status of infrastructure, which will provide relief in bank loan and interest to shipbuilders.

Service Fortnight and Social contribution
PM Modi thanked his birthday for the blessings received from India and abroad. He informed that 1 lakh units of blood donation and 30,000 health camps were organized in Gujarat in just two-three days under Seva Fortnight.
Ship Building- The mother of employment and industry
The Prime Minister described the ship building as the mother of employment and other industries. He said that 600 other employment is also added to 100 shipping employment. This is the multiplier effect of the sea field.
Sagarmala and global trade
The Prime Minister said that India’s maritime trade is increasing due to schemes like Sagarmala. The goal is to triple the existing trade. India has now joined the top three countries in the world.
Port capacity and increase in number of sailors
India’s port capacity has doubled in the last 11 years. Ship turnaround time is now less than a day. Deep water transmission port in Kerala and a new port in Maharashtra at a cost of Rs 75,000 crore is being built.
The number of sailors in India has increased from 1.25 lakh to 3 lakh in a decade.
Marine Heritage and Lothal Museum
Lothal is being built in the world’s largest maritime museum to preserve India’s maritime heritage. It will introduce India’s maritime power to the coming generations.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel address
Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel thanked the Prime Minister for the gift of projects worth Rs 33,600 crore. He said that since 2001, under the leadership of Modi ji, Gujarat caught a new path of development and has become the role model of the country today.
He said that new industries, import-export facilities and private investment have increased around the ports in Gujarat. Today, Gujarat handles 39% of the country’s cargo.
Renewable energy and balanced development
The Chief Minister said that Modi ji gave priority to non-traditional energy. The initiative started from Charanka Solar Park has reached the country’s largest hybrid renewable energy park today. Gujarat today produces more than 60% renewable energy.
CM Bhupendra Patel’s call to adopt local products
The Chief Minister said that people should adopt indigenous products on festivals like Navratri and Diwali and pursue the Prime Minister’s ‘Vocal for Local’ mantra.

Union port, ship transport and waterways Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal said that India has become a major economy today under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. The reform and transform have led to a tremendous change in the shipping sector and new investment opportunities have increased.
