Emraan Hashmi fans are eagerly waiting for Awarapan 2! The sequel’s promotional assets have brought back good old memories for the audience. Awarapan tracks like Toh Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishta have been reimagined for the second part. However, Pakistani singer Mustafa Zahid, who had originally sung the two songs, isn’t associated with the new versions. Saaj Bhatt and Subodhh Sharma have sung Tera Mera Rishta‘s new version, while Amaal Malik has worked on Toh Phir Aao’s recreated version. Now, in an interview, lyricist Sayeed Quadri has reacted to Mustafa’s absence from music album.
Why Mustafa Zahid Is Not Associated With Awarapan 2?
In an interview with News18, senior lyricist Sayeed Quadri opened up about Mustafa Zahid’s absence from ‘s music album. The lyricist, who penned both Tera Mera Rishta and Toh Phir Aao, said, “Bahot saari cheeze hoti hai jo haalat and waqt ko dekh ke karni padhti hai. The most important thing is that nation should always come first. Desh sarvapari hai.“

He was further asked about Pritam’s absence too. The music composer had worked on the 2007 film Awarapan’s music. However, Amaal and Mithoon have composed the second installment’s songs. Reacting to this, Sayeed stated that writers generally don’t have a say in this matter and that’s why he can’t say why Pritam isn’t a part of Awarapan 2. He added that the production house took this call and later praised Mithoon and Amaal for recreating the iconic tracks with a lot of heart.
Earlier, Emraan had opened up about Awarapan’s poor box office performance despite positive reviews. The actor told the news publication that it wasn’t a successful movie in 2007, however, it is now his most successful project. Emraan found it surprising that what the directorial didn’t do in the subsequent weekends at the box office, it did over a period of 20 years.
Awarapan 2 Release Date, Box Office Clash With Batwara 1947
Meanwhile, Awarapan 2 has been scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14. The Nitin Kakkar directorial will be locking horns with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947 at the box office. Co-starring Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi and Suvinder Vicky, the romantic actioner has been produced by Vishesh Bhatt under Vishesh Films. While Emraan reprises the character of Shivam, his co-star Disha plays Zara and Shabana is seen as Nafisa. Stay tuned to this space for more updates!
