The way the country is dreaming of the developed India, the path of the blue economy will come through the blue economy. Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh has written in one of his articles that Blue Economy is the new basis of India’s Green Development Yatra. According to him, we have 11 thousand kilometers long coastal area and an exclusive economic zone of two and a half million square kilometers, which gives us immense possibilities.
Blue economy means the entire economic structure associated with the sea, including fish farming, port, shipping, marine biotechnology, renewable energy and everything until the discovery of deep sea. Experts believe that this area will take India to new heights of prosperity and self -reliance in the coming years.
Government’s initiative will bring color
The government has started many big initiatives in this direction. Sagarmala program is modernizing ports and making business competitive. The Pradhan Mantri Fisheries Sampada Yojana is bringing blue revolution in the fisheries sector. Green Sea Guidelines are a big step towards making the ports green and zero carbon emission. Along with this, Matsya 6000 submersible has been prepared for the discovery of deep sea under Mission Ocean.
Women and youth will be strong
According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, the blue economy does not only talk about the use of resources, but also strengthens the society. Women are getting new opportunities in CVid farming and eco-tourism. Skills like Marine Engineering and Data Analytics are being given to the youth. At the same time, startups are using new experiments in smart fishing, green port logistics and marine biotechnology.
India will be strengthened globally
India is also strengthening its role in this direction globally. Chennai High Level Principal for Sustainable Blue Economy was launched during the chairmanship of G20. India signed the biodiversity agreement. India introduced Sahav Portal in France’s UNO Ocean Conference, which will become a major platform of coordination and knowledge sharing globally.
The direct thing is that in the coming years, India’s future, the prosperity of India and the green development of India are all connected to the sea. As Dr. Jitendra Singh has said- the path of developed India will come out from here.
