Madhya Pradesh News: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that there are many areas in Vananchal of the state which are traditionally preserved by local communities on the basis of cultural or religious beliefs. These regions of faith not only have spiritual significance, but also play an important role in maintaining biodiversity conservation, ecological balance, community unity and cultural heritage. He explained the need to develop such sites as Devaloka forests. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed to increase plantation activities in 5 km on both sides of the major rivers of the state in the forest area. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the activities of the Forest Department at Samtvat Bhawan at Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday.
Encroachment of rivers will be removed
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the support of the local community should be taken in removing encroachments of the banks of the rivers. Also, planting of useful plants including medicinal plants should be preferred in plantation for the income promotion of the local community. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Indore Ujjain Dewas area is being developed as a metropolitan area, plan to conserve the Kshipra river should be made accordingly. The Chief Minister also directed the officials regarding proper development and maintenance of city forests.
Crocodile and other aquatic organisms required for healthy ecosystem of water structures
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that crocodiles, crocodiles and turtles have an important role in maintaining healthy ecosystem of rivers and water structures. He instructed that they should be shifted from rivers and water structure from which these organisms are in large numbers and leave them in other rivers and water structure. It should be started from the Narmada and Tawa rivers. The meeting also discussed topics on converting forest villages into revenue villages, increase in minimum support price of small forest produce, tendu leaf bonus distribution etc. Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri Ashok Varnwal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Force, Mr. V.N. Senior officials of the department including Ambade were present.
