The US has paid the fees for H-1B visa to 1 million dollars.
US President Donald Trump has once again created a stir in the world with his decision. The first tariff and now 1 million dollars of extra fees imposed on H-1B visa have increased the concern of many companies. These companies include not only foreigners, but also American companies. Not only this, Trump’s decision has made it difficult for the people who dream of working in America.
Actually, foreign employees with high skills are called for jobs in America through H-1B visa. Now the fee of about 88 lakh rupees has been increased for this visa. It has been decided that H-1B employees will not be able to enter the US until $ 1,00,000 is paid.
New fee will be burdened on companies
Increased fees for visa will affect tech veterans like Amazon, IBM, Microsoft and Google. Because H-1B visas are already expensive. Each visa already costs between 1,700 to 4,500 dollars. Meaning the sooner you want the visa, the more fees you have to pay. H-1B visa expenses usually bear companies and it is considered to be a trade expense for it. This order will be applicable from September 21 and will surely put more burden on companies. Especially with this burden, those companies will be more affected, which give more jobs to foreign employees in technology and IT sector.
These companies will have more impact
Tech companies take the most advantage of H-1B visa. As of June 2025, 10,044 Amazon employees were on H-1B visa. TCS was in second place. After this, thousands of employees of companies like Microsoft, Meta, Apple, Google, Deloite, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra are on H-1B visa. Tech employees have more than 65 percent share in H-1B. The Trump administration says that these companies fired American employees on one side and have increased H-1B recruitment on the other side. IT companies have misused the H-1B system, causing major damage to American employees. By doing this, companies save huge savings.

According to a report, payment for H-1B ‘Entry-Level’ posts is 36 percent less than regular employees. Companies close their IT branches to take advantage of low labor costs, remove American employees and hand over IT jobs to foreign employees. The order also states that the H-1B program weakens the higher number of employees with low-paid employees, the credibility of the program and damages the wages and employment opportunities of American employees. Especially at entry-level, in industries where such low-paying H-1B employees are focused.
