Regarding this, Piruz Khambatta, Chairman of Rasna International, the country’s top instant beverage company, says that this time the demand is very high. The company’s sales have grown by 12 to 13 percent. If everything went well, we were expecting 20 percent growth. But due to Iran war the supply of raw materials has become tight. The raw material required for packaging is available at double the price.

impact on production

Khambatta said, ‘Due to the Iran war, there has been a huge increase in the price of crude oil. Due to this, the supply of plastic granules used in making packaging material has been disrupted. The goods are coming intermittently and its price has also doubled. Production has also been affected due to non-availability of packaging material. Not only this, the demand is also very high. Companies are not able to supply as per the demand. He said that despite the huge increase in the price of raw materials, the company has not increased the rates of its products.

opportunity in disaster

Khambatta also said that this situation is good for the food market as it will give companies an opportunity to clear old stocks. However, he expressed hope that the supply will increase in 7 to 10 days as the situation in West Asia becomes normal. Khambatta also, the government has done good work by bringing insurance scheme for exporters. A similar scheme should be introduced for domestic companies also.
