Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that on September 17, under the campaign “Healthy Women -Social Family” campaign, Madhya Pradesh has secured the first place in the entire country by doing 14 thousand 573 units voluntary blood donation in a single day and sickle cell screening of 20 thousand 379 beneficiaries. This is a proof of awareness and commitment of all health workers, social workers and citizens for strengthening of maternal infant health services. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we are currently at first place and it is the collective responsibility of all of us to maintain this place. For this, it is necessary that health workers, voluntary organizations, public representatives and common people should all make constant and coordinated efforts.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has appealed to the citizens, women, girls and parents of the state to take maximum advantage of services and camps related to the “healthy women -power families” campaign. He said that with determination and consolidated efforts, we will become the leading state of the country in health status including maternal mortality (MMR) and infant mortality (IMR) indices by continuously improving health services. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has thanked all the blood donors. He has appreciated health workers, public representatives, social workers for doing excellent work in sickle cell screening and called for continuous efforts.

According to the State -wise daily report of the Government of India, Madhya Pradesh finished first with 20,379 sickle cell screening. After this, Odisha finished second and third respectively by screening 10,851 and Maharashtra 10,821. Uttarakhand finished second and third respectively with 5,065 units and Rajasthan 3,530 units in the field of blood donation.

Under the “Healthy Women -Society Family” campaign, more than 20 thousand health camps are being organized in Ayushman Arogya temples and community health centers for checking and treatment of women across the state. Free investigation, counseling and treatment facilities are being provided in these camps. Pregnant women are being delivered in prenatal 2.0 portal in the campaign, entry, vaccination, anemia testing and treatment, nutrition and menstrual hygiene information related to treatment, screening of sickle cells and other non-communication diseases. Identification and treatment of decay and leprosy, mental health, eye, dental and hearing disorders are also part of this campaign. During the campaign, bricks, nutritional activities, yoga and wellness camps are also being organized. There is also a campaign to provide nutrition and cooperation to TB patients under the Nishyak Mitra Abhiyan. Also, blood donation camps are being organized across the state from 17 September to 2 October.
