Lopamudra

Lopamudra was the wife of sage Agastya. Two mantras of the Rigveda (canto 1.179.1-2) are related to them. The Rigveda has long dialogues between Rishi Agastya and his wife Lopamudra. Lopamudra composed many mantras in the Rigveda and she was famous for her knowledge and penance.

Maitreyi

Maitreyi was a sage Yajnavalkya wife. Maitreyi was proficient in Hindu scriptures and was Brahmavadini. Maitreyi was a philosopher and prophet. About one thousand hymns have been composed in the Rigveda, out of which about 10 hymns are credited to philosopher Maitreyi.

Gargi

In the early Vedic period, Gargi had an important contribution to knowledge science. Gargi, the daughter of sage Vachknu, composed many hymns in which questions were raised on the origin of all existence. Gargi participated in the Brahma Yagya of King Janaka of Videha. Gargi was one of the major participants in it. He gave a tough challenge to sage Yajnavalkya with his questions.

Ghosha

Ghosha was the granddaughter of the longest and the daughter of Kakshiwat. Both are the author of the Richaas in praise of Ashwin. There are two complete verses of tenth wing in the name of Ghosha. Each of which has 14 verses. She was an Indian philosopher and seer of the ancient Vedic period. Ghosha also had a good knowledge of spirituality and philosophy

Sprinkle

Apala was the daughter of Atri Muni. In the Rigveda, Apala has composed the 91st Sukta of the Ashtam Mandal. Apala was known for her intelligence.

Polyami

Raja was the daughter of Paulom and wife of Indra. Shachi was one of the 7 ministers in Indra’s court. In a sukta in the Rigveda (Richa, 10-159), Shachi has described her powers.

Vishwara

Brahmavadini Vishwara was a great scholar who researched the Vedas. Born in the dynasty of Maharishi Atri, the Vidushi composed the 28th Sukta of the fifth mandal of the Rigveda.
