On Friday evening, armed men attacked the Assam Rifles convoy in Bishnupur district of Manipur. Due to this, two soldiers have died. Four soldiers have been injured. He is undergoing treatment.

Attack on assam rifles convoy: Unidentified gunmen attacked the Assam Rifles convoy in Bishnupur district of Manipur on Friday evening. Due to this, two soldiers died and four were injured. The attack was carried out at around 5.50 pm. A vehicle carrying 33 Assam Rifles personnel was going from Imphal to Bishnupur. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. He is undergoing treatment.

The slain soldiers include a JCO and a jawan. After attacking the soldiers on the busy road, the terrorists escaped in a white van. The soldiers retaliated with restraint so that no civilian casualties were there.

The governor of Manipur expressed grief over the death of soldiers

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla described the attack as a “heinous act of violence”. The Governor expressed deep grief over the death of two soldiers of Assam Rifles. Expressed condolences to their families and wished the injured to recover soon.

Raj Bhavan posted on X, “Violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He will be encountered with the strongest resolution to maintain peace and stability in the region.”

Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh strongly condemned the attack. Described it as a “cruel trauma” for the state. He posted on X, “I am shocked to hear the news of the attack on our brave 33 Assam Rifles soldiers in Nambol Sabal Leikai. It is a cruel trauma for all of us.”

He said, “I have a deep condolences to the families of the slain soldiers. I pray for the injured to recover soon. Their courage and sacrifice will always be in our hearts. The culprits of this heinous act should be punished severely.”
