Amitabh Bachchan Reflects on Discipline, Says Work Often Disrupts His Routine

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has shared a candid reflection on the demands of his professional life, saying that work often makes it difficult to maintain a disciplined routine despite his commitment to consistency.

In his latest blog, written on July 31 and posted later than usual, the 83-year-old actor apologised to his readers for the delay, explaining that professional commitments had interrupted his regular schedule.

“…as always late again… but work comes and is difficult to ignore so the delayed Blog… Hopefully by the ‘morrow there shall be better discipline,” Bachchan wrote.

The legendary actor also spoke about the importance of routine, observing that a structured schedule allows the mind to function at its best. He noted that disruptions to established routines often lead to irregularities and require time to readjust.

The blog comes days after Bachchan addressed speculation about his health that surfaced following an earlier post mentioning “hospital”, “surgery” and “ICU”. The remarks had triggered widespread concern among fans on social media.

The actor later clarified that the post was not related to his own health. He explained that the references were used metaphorically while discussing how champions recover from setbacks, drawing a comparison with Lionel Messi and Argentina’s defeat in a FIFA World Cup final.

Known for his professionalism and disciplined work ethic, Bachchan continues to remain one of the industry’s busiest actors. He regularly shares updates about his work schedules, film shoots and personal reflections through his long-running blog.

On the professional front, Bachchan is set to return as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, which premieres on August 10. He will also reprise his role as the immortal warrior Ashwatthama in the sequel to Nag Ashwin’s blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD.
