Kerala Cyber Crime Cases: The owner of a driving school in Thrissur lost four lakh rupees through a fake banking mobile app. In an attempt to take out the bank statement, he accidentally opened the fake app and shared the OTP, after which his money was deducted.
Fake banking app fraud: According to a complaint, four lakh rupees have been cheated from the owner of a driving school in Triprare using the fake mobile app of the bank. Pradeep, the owner of the Triprare Light Driving School and a resident of Peringotkara, lost the amount. This fraud occurred when he was trying to extract a bank statement from the bank app on his mobile phone. He opened a fake app in the phone instead of the real app of the bank.
It is suspected that during an attempt to check the balance, it was cheated by hacking the phone. He was asked to share the OTP and did the same, which proved to be a big mistake. In eight times, about four lakh three thousand rupees were left out of his account. A complaint has been lodged with the cyber cell and the intercurd police in this case. It is suspected that the people of Jharkhand may be behind this fraud.
