1 million jobs for Indians in Russia
In view of the lack of laborers in Russia, a big news has come out. Russia has planned to call 10 lakh workers from India by the end of 2025. This decision has been taken to remove the shortage of men in Russia and the shortage of workers due to Ukraine war. Andrei Besin, head of Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the deal with India has been confirmed. He heard from his Indian friends that 10 lakh Indian workers will reach Russia, especially in Swardlovsk region, to 2025. Not only this, to help Indian laborers, a new Indian embassy is also going to open in Yakaterinburg, the capital of Swardlovsk.
Indian laborers will do wonders in Swardlovsk
Russia’s Swardlovsk area is a major center in the industry. There is a huge shortage of workers in metal and machinery related factories. According to Besin, the deployment of Russian men in Ukraine war and the trend of youth not working in factories is a big reason. In such a situation, the hardworking and skilled laborers of India can fill this deficiency. The city of Yakaterinburg is becoming a large logistics hub connecting Europe and Asia through the Trans-Cyberaan Railway. Also, this city will also play a big role in Arctic Development. Indian workers will get a big opportunity in the metal and machinery industry here.
Cold and food will be a challenge
The season of Yakaterinburg can be crooked for Indians. In summer, the temperature there lasts up to 24 degrees, but goes up to -17 degrees in winter. From October to April, a sheet of ice is lying. If most Indian laborers are accustomed to working in the hot weather of the middle East, then the winter of Russia will be a new challenge for them. Apart from this, people who are pure vegetarian can also be difficult for them to eat. However, warm clothes of Indian and international brands are easily found in Russia, which can give some relief from the cold.
Apart from India, workers from Sri Lanka, North Korea also
Russia is not dependent on India only. Besin said that there is a plan to bring workers from Sri Lanka and North Korea as well. He praised North Korean laborers and said that she is very hardworking. But it will not be easy for Indian and Sri Lankan laborers to adjust to Russia. Russia already has a habit of working with laborers from old Soviet countries like Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, who understands Russian language and culture. But due to lack of work experience with South Asian laborers, there may be problems in the beginning.
4,000 Indians have applied
Russia has started testing Indian laborers. A company named Samolyot Group of Moscow has started a pilot project to hire Indian construction workers. So far 4,000 Indians have applied for jobs in St. Petersburg. Indian laborers are already working on some building sites in Moscow and Calinigrad. The union of Russian industrialists and businessmen has given an idea to open training schools in India, so that the workers can be prepared according to the Russian needs. Russia’s Education Minister Sergei Kravatsov has supported this plan and has said to implement it in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs.
India-Russia will have a strong relationship
This step will further confirm the relations between India and Russia. India is already investing in Russia oil, gas, medicines and IT sectors. Going to Russia of Indian laborers will not only meet the deficiency of labor there, but India will also benefit. India’s Remedy Economy will get boost by the earnings of laborers. The Government of India is also active in this process and is talking to the Russian authorities to protect the interests of its people.
