As per the instructions of the Government of India and the Government of Chhattisgarh, preparations have been completed to provide adequate quantity of quality fertilizers and seeds to the farmers for the Kharif season 2026 in Korba district. The Agriculture Department has clarified that there is adequate stock of fertilizers and seeds in the district and farmers will not face any shortage. Deputy Director of Agriculture Department, Shri D.P.S. Kanwar said that the availability of fertilizers and seeds is being constantly monitored in the district so that farmers can get all the necessary materials on time.

Korba Collector Action: Strict action will be taken on irregularities in fertilizer distribution

Collector Kunal Dudawat has taken a tough stance on any negligence or irregularity in the storage and distribution of fertilizers. He has instructed the officials that if any seller is found black marketing, illegal storage or irregular distribution of fertilizer, then strict legal action should be taken against him under the Fertilizer Control Order 1985 and the Essential Commodities Act 1955. The aim of the administration is to provide quality fertilizers to the farmers at the right price.

Bio Fertilizer News: Blue green algae and green manure will increase soil fertility

This time the use of bio-fertilizers and green manure is being promoted by the Agriculture Department. According to officials, blue green algae and green manure provide essential nutrients to plants by fixing atmospheric nitrogen. This improves the physical, chemical and biological quality of the soil and increases the fertility of the soil.

8 kg of Dhaincha seeds and 4 kg of Moong seeds per acre are being distributed to the farmers as green manure. At the same time, blue green algae is being produced in Agricultural Science Center Lakhanpur, Agricultural College Katghora, Government Garden Plantation Pattadi and in the fields of selected farmers.

Nano Fertilizer Update: Taking nano fertilizer is completely optional for farmers

This time, based on the advice of agricultural scientists, integrated nutrient management is being promoted. The administration has emphasized on balanced use of organic and green manures along with chemical fertilizers. As per last year’s demand, 80 percent urea and 60 percent DAP has been stored in cooperative societies. The remaining quantity will be provided through Nano Urea, Nano DAP and NPK fertilizers. The administration has made it clear that no farmer will be forced to take nano fertilizers. This will be completely voluntary and farmers will be able to choose the option as per their need.

Fertilizer Stock in Korba: How much fertilizer and seeds are available in the district

The administration has released detailed data regarding the availability of fertilizers in the cooperative societies of Korba district. A total target of 12 thousand 700 metric tons of fertilizer storage has been set for the cooperative sector. In comparison, till now 7 thousand 132.58 metric tons i.e. about 56.16 percent of fertilizer has been stored. So far, 1 thousand 129.94 metric tons of manure has been lifted by the farmers, while 6 thousand 2.64 metric tons of manure is still available in the committees.

Apart from this, a total of 11 thousand 886 liters of nano liquid fertilizer was stored in the district, which includes 6 thousand 842 liters of nano urea and 5 thousand 44 liters of nano DAP. Out of these, 483.50 liters have been distributed and the remaining 11 thousand 402.50 liters of stock is still available.

Fertilizer Inspection News: 115 centers inspected, 58 bags of urea seized

To provide the right price and quality fertilizer to the farmers, fertilizer inspectors are continuously conducting surprise inspections of fertilizer sales centers. From April 1, 2026 till now, 115 sales centers in the district have been inspected. During inspection, irregularities were revealed at many places.

After irregularities were found, show cause notices have been issued to 28 outlets, while licenses or sales of 8 outlets have been banned. In one case, 58 bags of urea were also seized after illegal storage and irregularities were found. The Agriculture Department has clarified that this campaign will continue on the instructions of the Collector so that black marketing and illegal storage of fertilizers can be completely stopped.
