Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami approved ₹676 crore for solar lights, drinking water, electricity, education and local bodies projects.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a big decision towards strengthening the infrastructure facilities and promoting clean energy in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister has given total financial and administrative approval of ₹676 crore for various schemes related to solar light, drinking water, power supply, higher education, urban development and local bodies. The purpose of these approvals is to improve public facilities and speed up development works in various districts of the state.
Solar Light Project: Approval of solar and LED light projects in Almora and Chamiyala
The Chief Minister has approved ₹ 35 lakh for installing 200 solar lights to improve the lighting system in the municipal corporation area of Almora assembly constituency. Apart from this, a sum of ₹3.07 crore has been sanctioned for the installation of Central Control Monitoring System (CCMS) and LED street lights in Nagar Panchayat Chamiyala. This will help in developing energy efficient lighting systems at the local level.
Dehradun-Pithoragarh LED Street Light Project gets momentum
Many important projects have been approved under the head of development of urban infrastructure facilities. In Dehradun, ₹ 1.95 crore has been sanctioned for installation of central control monitoring system and LED street lights from Ghantaghar to Buddha Chowk, Darshanlal Chowk to Prince Chowk, Prince Chowk to Saharanpur Chowk, Ballupur Chowk, Soochna Adhikar Bhawan to Pulia No. 06 and Ring Road Tapovan Chowk to Ladpur Church.
Whereas, ₹ 1.99 crore has been sanctioned for the installation of LED street light poles and CCMS panels in Pithoragarh Municipal Corporation area. Apart from this, approval of ₹ 3.93 crore has been given for installation of LED street lights and CCMS panels in Dehradun Municipal Corporation area.
Nainital Water Supply Scheme: ₹2.13 crore to Krishnapur Drinking Water Scheme
The Chief Minister has sanctioned a sum of ₹2.13 crore for Krishnapur Drinking Water Scheme under Nainital branch of Nainital district. This project will help in further strengthening the drinking water supply system in the area and the local people will be able to get better facilities.
Power Infrastructure: Big fund for power projects in Kedarnath and Kumaon
The Chief Minister has approved many important projects to strengthen the energy sector. Approval has been given to release ₹2 crore against the approval of ₹5 crore for five schemes of construction of 33/11 KV sub-station, their associated 33 KV line and 11 KV feeder in Kumaon division.
Apart from this, Government of India has approved the release of ₹23.10 crore as the first installment out of the sanctioned ₹35 crore for the three projects of UJVNL Limited. Under UPCL, a huge amount of ₹ 212.10 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of 33/11 KV substation and 33 KV and 11 KV lines proposed in the Kedarnath Dham Master Plan.
Higher Education News: PG Science Building to be built in Agastyamuni College
The government has also taken important decisions in the higher education sector. The Chief Minister has approved a scheme of ₹19 crore for the construction of PG building of Science Faculty in Government Post Graduate College, Agastyamuni. This project will provide better educational facilities to the students of the area and will strengthen the structure of higher education.
District Panchayat Fund: District Panchayats and bodies got big funds
The Chief Minister has approved an amount of ₹ 82.21 crore as the second quarter installment to all the district panchayats as per the recommendations of the Fifth State Finance Commission. Along with this, approval has also been given to release an amount of ₹ 325.03 crore as the second quarter installment to all the urban local bodies of the state. The government believes that this will give impetus to development work at the local level and many works related to public interest will be completed faster.
