The Bombay High Court has rejected the petitions challenging the results of the re-NEET exam. The court, after examining the original answer sheets, found no fault in NTA’s evaluation and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each petitioner.
The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar bench of the Bombay High Court has dismissed all four petitions challenging the results of the re-NEET exam. Along with this, a fine of Rs 5,000 has also been imposed on each petitioner.
The petitions alleged that the results declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) were incorrect and there were irregularities in the evaluation of answer-sheets.
The case was heard by the division bench of Justice NB Suryavanshi and Justice AD Shinde.
Court ordered original answer sheets from Delhi
During the hearing, considering the seriousness of the allegations, the court directed to bring the original answer-sheets of the students concerned in a sealed cover from Delhi.
The answer sheets were produced before the court and examined by the bench. Students, their parents and their lawyers were also given an opportunity to inspect the original answer-sheets.
NTA results approved
After examining the records, the court found that the marks awarded and results declared by NTA were in line with the original answer-sheet. No errors or discrepancies were found in the results.
During the hearing, senior panel lawyer Rohit Sarvagya appeared on behalf of the Center and NTA and presented all the original documents before the court.
After examining all the facts and original records, the court dismissed all four petitions. It also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each petitioner for approaching the court on the basis of false and unverified information.
With this decision of the High Court, the results declared by NTA regarding Re-NEET exam have got judicial confirmation.
