Actor robo Shankar death: Tamil actor-comedian Robo Shankar, known to work with actors like Dhanush and Thalpati Vijay, has died at the age of 46. The actor breathed his last at GEM Hospital in Chennai on Thursday.
Robo Shankar dies due to serious stomach problem
The hospital said in a statement, “Robo Shankar was admitted to the GEM Hospital in Perungudi, Chennai on 16 September 2025 due to a serious stomach problem in the critical condition of gastrointestinal bleeding and multiorgan failure. He was being treated in a critical care unit. His condition deteriorated rapidly and he died on 18 September at 9:05 pm.”
Kamal Haasan paid tribute to Robo Shankar
As soon as this news came out, there was a flood of condolence messages from the industry, in which veterans like Kamal Haasan paid a passionate tribute. Haasan wrote in a passionate tribute, “Robo Shankar, Robo is just a surname. In my dictionary, you are a human being. So, my younger brother. So, will you leave me and leave? You have gone, your work is over. My work is completely incomplete. My work is left incomplete. You have left for us tomorrow. So tomorrow, we are.”

Actress Radhika Sarathkumar also paid tribute to Robo Shankar on her X handle. He said, “He always kept everyone happy with his humor and used to work very hard to give his best. It is a great loss. Pray for family and friends to be strong. RIP,”

In addition to working in many films, Robo Shankar was also known for his appearance on TV with shows like ‘Kings of Comedy Juniors’, ‘Kanni Thawu’, ‘Semberthi’, and ‘Top Kuku Dup Kuku Season 2’. One of his most famous film roles was in Dhanush Ki ‘Mari’.
