Kinnar Kailash

KinnerKailash Pilgrimage: The holy month of Saavan has started from today. In this month, devotees go to the holy places of Mahadev and offer him Lalabhishek. One such holy place of Mahadev is Kinnar Kailash. It is situated in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is natural here, which is a center of special faith for the devotees. There is a religious belief that this area is related to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

Kailash, the eunuch situated in the womb of the Himalayas, is very dear to Mahadev. It is believed that this is the winter abode of Lord Shiva. The Shivalinga here is very amazing in itself, because it remains covered with snow for 12 months amidst the mountains. This Shivling is 45 feet high and 16 feet wide. This Shalivalinga is also visible from Kalpa of Kinnaur. The journey to Kinnar Kailash started in the year 1990.

Parvati Kund is downstream from Kinnar Kailash.

Initially, people used to come around Kinnar Kailash with sheep and goats. At that time, at exactly four in the morning, sounds of drums and conch shells were heard around Kailash. As if worship is being done on Mount Kailash. Parvati Kund is located downstream from Kinnar Kailash. This Kinnar is 500 meters below Kailash. There is a pond here, where the water remains very cold even in summer. It is believed that by bathing in this pond, women get children.

The color of Shivalinga changes

It is believed that when King Ravana of Lanka went on his journey to Mansarovar, he performed penance in Kinnar Kailash. It is said that the color of Kinnar Kailash changes seven times a day. Whereas the mountains surrounding it do not have any effect on their colour. Not only this, the color of Shivling here also keeps changing again and again. Many times after dark, shining stars descend on the upper side of the Shivalinga present in Kinnar Kailash.

According to Mahabharata, Pandu’s son Arjun received Pashupatastra from Lord Shiva in this area. After reaching a great height, devotees visit and worship the natural Shivalinga here.
