Gas Cylinder New Rules: 7 new rules of gas cylinder may come into effect from August 1. These may include changes like change in prices, limit of subsidy cylinder and gas delivery within minutes.

From gas booking to cylinder delivery at home, 7 major rules can change. Some of these changes will give you relief, while if some things are not taken care of, your cylinder may also go back. LPG cylinder prices may change on August 1
On the first of every month, oil companies (IOCL, HPCL, BPCL) review the prices of gas cylinders. On July 1, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder was reduced by Rs 173, but the price of domestic (14.2 kg) cylinder remained unchanged. Crude oil prices have increased rapidly in the global market. Because of this, there is every possibility that the prices of domestic and commercial gas cylinders will increase on August 1.
If e-KYC is not done then there may be problem in subsidy.
The government and oil companies are emphasizing on completing Aadhaar based e-KYC. If you are a beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and have not yet done e-KYC, then complete it soon. There will be no problem in getting subsidy due to this. However, customers whose e-KYC is already complete do not need to do the process again.
Subsidy will be available only on 4 cylinders in Ujjwala scheme.
If you are a beneficiary of Ujjwala Yojana, then this is a big update for you. Earlier the government used to give subsidy on 9 cylinders in a year, but now under the new rule it has been reduced to only 4 refills (cylinders). That means now you will get a subsidy of Rs 300 only on the first 4 cylinders of the year i.e. a total of Rs 1,200 annually.
Different rules on LPG connection in PNG areas
Where piped gas (PNG) facility is available, the government is promoting the system of one household, one cooking gas. In many cases in such areas, after adopting PNG, the process of closing the LPG connection may have to be completed. If later one shifts from the PNG facility area to some other place, then LPG connection can be taken again as per the prescribed procedure.
Now it will be easier to get gas at home
Now home delivery of gas cylinder is becoming easier than before. In recent times, many companies have started express delivery of 10 kg and 5 kg light LPG cylinders. HPCL has launched HP Navya cylinder. BPCL has launched Bharatgas Lite ZIP. Indian Oil has introduced Indane XTRALITE NOW. Through these services, gas cylinders can also be ordered from online platforms in some cities. At present this facility is available in select cities and it is gradually being expanded.
It will be necessary to give OTP after gas booking
Now the OTP (DAC) system will continue as before during the delivery of LPG. When your cylinder arrives for delivery, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. This OTP will have to be given to complete the delivery. If OTP is not available, in many cases the delivery will not be completed. Therefore, it is important to keep the mobile number updated at the time of gas booking.
You will have to keep in mind the stipulated time between gas bookings.
Oil companies are enforcing the rule of minimum time between cylinder bookings to prevent fake bookings. The rule is about 25 days for urban customers and about 45 days for rural customers. New bookings are not accepted before this period.
