Indian citizen Amritpal Singh has been included in the most wanted list of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The law enforcement agency said Amritpal is accused of alleged involvement in an international drug trafficking syndicate operating in North America.
According to the bureau, Singh is wanted for his alleged role in the Ravinder Dhandha organized crime group, an international criminal network based in Vancouver, Canada.
It is alleged that this syndicate smuggled huge quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine for drug smugglers operating in the US, Canada and Mexico.
The FBI said Singh is accused of participating in a cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy as part of this organized crime network.
Major action under Operation Hardball
Putting Singh in the most wanted list is part of a larger action being taken against the Ravinder Dhandha gang under ‘Operation Hardball’. The purpose of this investigation is to dismantle the syndicate’s alleged drug trafficking operations in North America.
A Los Angeles court had issued a federal arrest warrant against Singh on June 23.
Authorities have not disclosed Singh’s current whereabouts.
FBI released photo, sought help from public
The FBI has identified Singh as an Indian citizen born on January 7, 1996, and released a photo taken in 2024 to help identify him.
The public has been urged to immediately provide any information regarding Singh’s whereabouts.
The investigation is being led by the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office.
