On Guru Purnima, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav dedicated his book at Maharishi Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain and explained the importance of the Indian Guru-disciple tradition.
Ujjain. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Maharishi Sandipani Ashram located in Ujjain. Here he dedicated his book ‘Shilpi of Indian Guru Tradition: Maharishi Sandipani’ published by Shri Krishna Patheya Trust under the Culture Department of Madhya Pradesh Government, at the feet of Maharishi Sandipani.
During this, the Chief Minister wished Guru Purnima to the teachers across the country including the state. He said that Guru is not only a person who gives education, but he is also a guide who gives right direction in life. Only by the presence and blessings of the Guru, values, wisdom and positive thinking develop within a person, which leads him towards a successful and meaningful life.
Chief Minister’s special emphasis on Indian Guru-disciple tradition
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that one of the biggest characteristics of Indian culture is its rich Guru-Shishya tradition. This tradition was not limited only to exchange of knowledge, but also became a medium for society building and preservation of life values. He said that Maharishi Sandipani was such a great Acharya of this glorious tradition, under whose education and guidance the personalities of ideal disciples like Lord Shri Krishna, Balram and Sudama developed. This is the reason that even today the name of Maharishi Sandipani is counted among the main pillars of Indian education and cultural tradition.
Introduction to the book written by Governor Mangubhai Patel
The preface of this book has been written by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel. In his message, he said that Maharishi Sandipani did not consider education only as a medium for acquiring knowledge, but linked it with character building, discipline, social harmony and public welfare.
The Governor also appreciated the efforts being made by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to preserve and promote the Indian knowledge tradition, Guru-Shishya culture and the legacy of Maharishi Sandipani.
