YSRCP leader Adikeshav Suresh has sought resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh over the mega DSC recruitment scam. Citing the example of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over NEET paper leak, he said that Nara Lokesh should also take moral responsibility.
Tadepalli (Andhra Pradesh) [भारत]July 29 (ANI): Former Andhra Pradesh education minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Political Affairs Committee (PAC) member Adimulapu Suresh on Wednesday demanded the resignation of state Education Minister Nara Lokesh. This demand has been made regarding alleged irregularities in Mega DSC recruitment. Suresh said that Nara Lokesh should also follow the same accountability standards as Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan did in the NEET paper leak case.
Speaking to ANI on the issue, Suresh said, “When an entrance exam paper was leaked at the Centre, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tendered his resignation to maintain value-based politics and ethical standards. Why is Nara Lokesh not following in the same footsteps? We want answers…”
Allegations of rigging in recruitment
Suresh alleged that the question paper of District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment was leaked and claimed that thousands of candidates had allegedly secured appointments through the “backdoor”. He further alleged that persons associated with the Yuva Galam campaign were being given jobs under the DSC recruitment process.
“Yesterday, we saw the anger, disappointment and frustration of the youth of Andhra Pradesh, i.e. Gen Z, over the failure of the TDP-led NDA coalition government to conduct the DSC examinations in a fair and transparent manner,” he said.
He further said, “Since the beginning, the YSRCP has been demanding an independent inquiry, especially by the CBI, to look into the alleged irregularities, paper leaks and illegal appointments of teachers under sports quota. However, the government has turned a deaf ear to this entire issue.”
The former education minister also alleged that Nara Lokesh has not given any reply to the allegations made by the YSRCP. Suresh said, “We have presented concrete evidence and case-by-case examples, which show how the rules were violated. Education Minister Nara Lokesh has not responded.”
‘Gen Z movement’ and demand for resignation
“The DSC question paper was apparently leaked, and thousands of candidates have allegedly entered through the backdoor. Those working for the Yuva Galam campaign are reportedly being given jobs under the DSC recruitment,” he alleged.
Suresh said Andhra Pradesh is also witnessing a “Gen Z movement”, with students and youth demanding the resignation of the education minister over the alleged mega DSC scam.
He said, “We demand that the same standards of accountability be adopted here also. If Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned over the NEET paper leak case, then Nara Lokesh should also resign over the mega DSC scam.”
challenge for debate
He claimed that a large number of candidates have been affected by the alleged scam and said he was ready to debate with Nara Lokesh on the issue. Suresh said, “As a former education minister, I am ready to debate with Nara Lokesh on this issue, if our leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy allows.”
YSRCP protest
Earlier on Tuesday, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders took out a protest rally from VRC Center to Gandhi Statue in Nellore, demanding the immediate resignation of Nara Lokesh over the alleged scam in DSC (District Selection Committee) recruitment. The protest was attended by senior leaders including former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy and in-charges of various constituencies.
The protest follows the “Mega DSC” recruitment controversy, which has triggered a political tussle across the state over the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment drive for over 15,900 posts. The opposition YSRCP has alleged a major scam including paper leaks, irregularities in sports quota and manipulation of data. (ANI)
