Bhopal Farmers Protest: At present, thousands of farmers from different districts are sitting on strike in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Due to which the traffic system of the entire city has collapsed. Police have issued several route diverts and traffic advisories due to the movement.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The agitation of farmers regarding their demands continued in Bhopal on Wednesday. Farmers protesting against demands like purchase of moong at Minimum Support Price (MSP) and abolition of e-token system for fertiliser, have sat on strike on all the major roads of Bhopal. Now this movement is also affecting the traffic system of the city. Traffic has been affected on many routes from Bhopal-Narmadapuram Highway to the capital. The situation is such that the journey which used to take 10 minutes is now taking 2 to 3 hours in the morning and evening.
Read traffic advisory before going on these routes of Bhopal
- If you have to go somewhere via Bhopal-Narmadapuram Highway, then definitely check the traffic situation there before going. For this, use traffic diverted alternative routes and leave home with extra time.
- At the same time, if you have to go towards Rani Kamla Pati Railway Station or catch a train, then leave with time, otherwise you will have to regret later after leaving the train.
- Also, if you want to go to ISBT (Bus Stand) by road coming from Narmadapuram side, then definitely read the traffic advisory of Bhopal Police.
- Even if you have to go to Barkatullah University or MP Nagar, leave the house only after taking time and knowing the current situation.
- If you want to avoid jam then follow the advisory of police and traffic department. Due to which you will be able to avoid going towards the protest site unnecessarily.
Traffic diverted on these routes of Bhopal
- Vehicles coming to Bhopal from Narmadapuram Road are being diverted through 11 Mile Bypass, Khajuri Kala, SOS Road and Piplani Marg.
- People living between Misrod village and Barkatullah University have been advised to use the Bawadiya Kalan Bridge to reach Kolar and No. 10 area.
- Motorists going from MP Nagar towards Narmadapuram Road have been advised to take Govindpura-Piplani, Patel Nagar or Khajuri Kala route.
- People going to AIIMS Bhopal have been asked to go via Katara Hills and Bagsevania road and turn left under RLL Bridge and proceed further.
- Let us tell you that due to the jam caused by the farmers’ movement in Bhopal, the District Collector has declared holiday in many schools. So that children do not face problems.
What are the demands of the farmers and why are they agitating in Bhopal?
Let us tell you that thousands of farmers who have come to Bhopal from different districts of Madhya Pradesh have demanded that 100 percent of the moong crop should be purchased. Also, the e-token system should be improved or it should be withdrawn and the old system should be restored. Farmers said that we are protesting peacefully. We will remain here until our demands are met. We have brought one month’s ration and water with us.
