BTS’ V in Squid Game Season 3? The Latest Update Will Surprise You

After his recent military release, BTS’ Kim Taehyung, aka V, teased fans in Weverse with word of a “giant” new project. While he did not give details, fans instantly leaped to the assumption that he would be acting in the extremely popular third season of Netflix’s Squid Game.

Hype Driven by Previous Teasers and Viral Moments
Speculation had been ongoing for years, since V donned the legendary Squid Game pink onesie and guard mask at BTS’ Permission to Dance on Stage concert in 2022. The appearance went viral, where fans were convinced it was a cryptic indication of a collaboration. This theory caught even more steam after Squid Game actors Lee Jung Jae (Player 456) and Wi Ha Joon (Detective Jun Ho) were questioned about V’s potential involvement in a BuzzFeed UK interview. Their evasive answers of “I can’t say anything about that” and “No comment” only continued to fuel speculation.

Season 3 Drops, But V Nowhere to Be Found
Even after months of growing hype and a surge in worldwide searches for “V Squid Game cameo,” the BTS artist was nowhere to be seen when Squid Game Season 3 launched on June 27. Enthusiasts combed through each scene and background image in the hope of catching a glimpse of him, but the cameo failed to materialize. Most went to social media to air their good-natured disappointment, claiming their own hype had tricked them.
