Chhattisgarh’s Cooperative Minister Kedar Kashyap emphasized on digital banking expansion, transparency and extending the benefits of schemes to farmers in the review meeting.

Chhattisgarh’s Cooperative Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap held an important review meeting with the aim of further strengthening the cooperative sector in the state and improving banking services. The meeting, held at his residence office in Nava Raipur, was attended by senior officials along with the chairmen of Chhattisgarh Apex Bank and District Cooperative Central Banks.
During the meeting, the current functioning of cooperative banks, services being provided to farmers and future plans were discussed in detail. The Minister clearly said that cooperative institutions should be made more effective and responsive to the needs of the people.
Special focus on expanding digital banking services
In the meeting, there was a special discussion on the issue of providing modern and transparent banking facilities to farmers and people of rural areas. Many suggestions came forward regarding the expansion of digital banking services in cooperative banks, which were seriously considered. Shri Kashyap instructed the officials that the benefits of the government’s public welfare schemes should reach the eligible beneficiaries on time and with complete transparency. He said that banking services should be made simple and accessible by making greater use of technology, so that people in rural areas can also get the benefit of modern facilities.
Brainstorming on making cooperative institutions more accountable
In the review meeting, measures to increase the efficiency of cooperative institutions and make them more people-oriented were also discussed. Various suggestions were considered to improve the functioning of banks, increase the quality of services and strengthen the trust of beneficiaries. The Minister said that the need of the hour is to increase transparency and accountability in the cooperative sector. For this, all concerned institutions will have to work together.
Cooperative system is the backbone of rural economy
Cooperative Minister Kedar Kashyap said that the state government is making continuous efforts for the economic empowerment of farmers and rural areas. He said that the cooperative system is the main basis of the rural economy and strengthening it is one of the priorities of the government.
He called upon the presidents, officials and officers of Apex Bank, District Cooperative Banks to work with better coordination. He said that if all the institutions work together, the cooperative sector of the state will become stronger and farmers and common people will get direct benefits from it.
