BJP MP Ravi Kishan will be seen in the role of Lord Ram in this year’s Ramlila of Ayodhya. The event will be held in two phases – in Delhi in October and in Ayodhya in January. Many actors including Vindu Dara Singh, Rakesh Bedi, Raza Murad will be in important roles.
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [भारत]July 28 (ANI): Ayodhya ki Ramlila founder-president Subhash Malik and general secretary Shubham Malik have announced that BJP Lok Sabha MP Ravi Kishan will play the role of Lord Ram in this year’s Ayodhya ki Ramlila.
This year the event will be held in two phases. The first phase will be held from October 10 to October 20 at Mavalankar Hall, Constitutional Club, Rafi Marg in the national capital, while the second phase will be held in Ayodhya from January 15 to January 25.
Organizers said the schedule has been changed following repeated damage to the stage and sets in Ayodhya due to heavy rains and storms in previous years. The event being held in Ayodhya in January is expected to ensure a smooth and grand presentation.
These are the other major artists of Ramlila
The confirmed cast of Ramleela includes Ravi Kishan (Lord Ram), Vindu Dara Singh (Lord Shiva) and Rakesh Bedi in lead roles. Additionally, Arun Bakshi will play the role of Ravana, Avtaar Gill will play the role of Narada Muni, and Raza Murad will be seen playing the role of both King Janak and Ahiravan.
Organizers said its main objective is to enable devotees across the world to watch Ramlila through live telecast with their families in their homes. He claimed that more than 620 million devotees had watched Ayodhya’s Ramlila last year, making it the most watched edition ever.
Playing the character of Ram for the first time
Ravi Kishan has previously played the roles of Kevat, Parashuram and Bharat in the previous editions of Ayodhya Ki Ramleela. This year he will play the central role of Lord Ram for the first time.
According to the organisers, the main focus is to convey the message and values of Lord Ram to devotees across the world through digital and television broadcasts, allowing millions of Ram devotees to watch the performance from the comfort of their homes.
When Ravi Kishan got relief from the court
Meanwhile, earlier this month, the Delhi High Court had granted an ex-parte interim injunction in favor of actor Ravi Kishan, restraining him from unauthorized use of his name, image, voice and other personality traits for commercial or personal gain.
The order was passed by Justice Jyoti Singh on July 2 in a commercial suit filed by Ravi Kishan against those who misused his identity on digital platforms. (ANI)
