Actor Tusshar Kapoor has revealed that his son Laksshya Kapoor is currently interested in pursuing a career in football and is not showing any inclination towards joining the film industry.
Speaking exclusively to IANS on completing 25 years in cinema, Tusshar shared that he hopes his son gets an opportunity to build a future in the sport he loves. He added that if Laksshya ever decides to become an actor, he must be completely certain about the choice and ready to give his best.
“He wants to become a footballer, so I hope he finds a job where he can contribute as a footballer. In India, I don’t know how easy or hard it is, but besides that he is not interested in films yet,” Tusshar said.
The actor added that entering the film industry requires deep passion, commitment and the ability to handle challenges.
“If he wants to be an actor, he has to be very, very passionate and he is 100 per cent clear and sure about it. Only then can he become one. Otherwise, I don’t want him to get into it. Unless you are able to go through the ups and downs,” he said.
Talking about whether perceptions around film families have changed with time, Tusshar said that actors from previous generations, including his father Jeetendra, never pressured their children to enter films.
“I don’t think dad or Dharamji or Amitji ever forced any of us to become actors. It was something that we were clear about whenever we decided to become actors. But all the more now we have realised it’s not for everybody,” he said.
Tusshar further highlighted that success in the film industry depends on several factors, including talent, screen presence, resilience and luck.
“Your talent, looks, screen presence, fighting spirit, resilience, all these things matter. Luck also matters a lot,” he said, adding that people should reconsider entering the industry if they do not receive positive signs about their prospects.
Tusshar Kapoor became Bollywood’s first single father after welcoming Laksshya through surrogacy on June 1, 2016.
