The story of ‘Partition 1947’ is based on Asghar Wajahat’s play ‘Jis Lahore Nayi Vekhya, O Jamya e Nayi’. Along with Rajkumar Santoshi, Wajahat has also been given credit for the story writing of the film. Both of them have written the dialogues of the film together. It is noteworthy that ‘Partition 1947’ is Aamir Khan’s dream project, which was earlier going to be made with the name ‘Lahore 1947’. But later the makers changed its title. The film will be released on 14 August 2026.
