A sensational murder on Monday evening in Shadiabad police station area of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh shocked the entire area. After a domestic dispute in Mubarakpur village, a husband killed his wife by slitting her throat with a knife.
The woman kept running on the road for about 100 meters to save her life, but the accused caught her and committed the crime. After the incident, the accused himself reached the police station along with his eight-month old innocent daughter, where the police arrested him.
The deceased has been identified as Kusum Prajapati. She was a resident of Kasba Koiri village of Shadiabad police station area and used to support her family by running a beauty parlor in Shadiabad town. The accused Ravi alias Honey is a resident of Gurani village and conducts the orchestra. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of panic and mourning in the entire area.
The second marriage took place after the first marriage broke up.
Kusum’s first marriage was with a young man from Azamgarh about 10 years ago. Due to a dispute, both of them separated, after which she started living with her daughter in Shadiabad. In the year 2023, she met Ravi alias Honey and both started living together. Later Kusum put pressure on Ravi for marriage. At first Ravi refused, on which Kusum filed a case against him. Later a compromise was reached and in the year 2024, both of them got married in the court. After marriage, both were living in a rented house.
Tension increased after molestation case
According to local people, there was a dispute going on between the husband and wife for some time. During this time a woman had accused Ravi of molestation. It is said that Kusum had also gone to the police station with that woman. In the police investigation, Ravi was found innocent of the charge of molestation, however, he was challaned on suspicion of disturbing peace. After being released on bail, he returned home and was very angry.

According to eyewitnesses, on Monday evening Ravi reached Kusum’s beauty parlor with a knife in his hand and called her out. As soon as Kusum came out, he tried to attack. To save her life, Kusum ran on the road, but the accused chased her for about 100 meters and caught her and slit her throat with a knife. After the incident, there was chaos on the spot and before people reached the spot, Kusum had died.
The accused reached the police station with his daughter, police arrested him
After the incident, the accused went straight to Shadiabad police station along with his eight-month-old daughter. Local people claim that during the incident he also made objectionable remarks to the daughter, although the police have not officially confirmed this. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem and arrested the accused.
Police started legal action
Area officer Bhudkuda Ramakrishna said that the incident occurred at around 7 pm on Monday evening. A case of murder has been registered on the complaint of the deceased’s brother. The accused Ravi alias Honey is in police custody and further legal action is being taken in the case. The police is investigating the entire incident and all the reasons behind the murder are being investigated.
