Indian Disabled Cricket Council has announced a 16-member team for the England tour. Majid Ah Magre has been made the captain of the team. The Indian team will play a seven-match IT20 series in England from August 5 to 19.

New Delhi [भारत]July 27 (ANI): The Disability Cricket Council of India (DCCI) has announced the 16-member Indian squad for the upcoming mixed disability cricket series against England. This series will be played in England from 5th to 19th August.

According to a press release, Majid Ah Magarey has been named the captain, while Sai Akash Saivamani will play the role of vice-captain.

India will begin the seven-match IT20 series with the first two matches on August 5 and 7 at the Ourcup County Ground, Derby. After this, the third IT20 match will be held on 9 August at Uptonsteel Grace Road, Leicester. The fourth match will be played at the County Ground, Hove on August 12, after which the teams will travel to Arundel on August 15 and 16 for the fifth and sixth IT20s. The series will conclude with the seventh and final IT20 on August 19 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. All matches will start at 2:30 pm local time.

DCCI Secretary Ravi Kant Chauhan said, “The appointment of Majid Magare as captain is a proud moment not only for Jammu and Kashmir but for the entire disabled cricket community. His leadership will inspire many budding cricketers from the region to pursue the game with greater confidence and determination.”

DCCI Vice President Sumit Jain said, “I wish the entire team and support staff a successful tour and hope that they will inspire many more budding disabled cricketers with their performance.”

The Indian mixed disability cricket team is currently undergoing a preparatory training camp in Chhawla near Dwarka, New Delhi as part of their preparations for the upcoming mixed disability cricket series against England.

The support staff for India’s mixed disability cricket series against England will be led by former Rajasthan Ranji captain Rohit Jhalani, who has been appointed head coach. He will be assisted by Dev Dutt as the coach, while Rohit Sharma will serve as the fielding coach. Ramswaroop Saini has been named the strength and conditioning coach, and Mayank Pushkar will remain with the team as a physiotherapist, ensuring that the players remain in top physical condition throughout the tour.

Majid Ah Magre (captain), Rizwan Altaf Bhat and Hilal Ahmed Wani are representing the team from Jammu and Kashmir. Tamil Nadu is represented by Sai Akash Saivamani (vice-captain) and Sudarshan Elangovan, while Haryana is represented by Kuldeep Singh and Tarun. Rajesh Irappa Kannur and Shiv Shankar Guntiganappalli Subbarayappa are in the team from Karnataka. The remaining players include Yashwant Naidu Ravuri (Andhra Pradesh), Vivek Kumar (Uttar Pradesh), Arjun Rajesh Gavre (Vidarbha), Ravindra Gopinath Sante (Mumbai), Yogendra Singh Bhadauria (Madhya Pradesh), Vrishant Sandeep Gunjal (Maharashtra) and Jayesh Parmar (West Bengal).
