Strict action will be taken against those who break the law
Dhami also gave a strict warning to those who indulge in any kind of disturbance during the yatra. “Anyone who violates law and order or creates obstruction will face strict legal action,” he said.
Earlier, CM Dhami had directed officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the safe, smooth and successful conduct of Kanwar Yatra starting from July 30. He said that the safety and convenience of the devotees is the top priority of the state government and directed all the departments to complete the preparations on time without any lapse.

Chairing a high-level review meeting in Haridwar, the Chief Minister said, “Kanwar Yatra is not only a major religious event, but it also reflects the administrative efficiency, service spirit and organizational capacity of Uttarakhand.”
He said that the aim of the government is to ensure a safe, well-organized and clean Kanwar Yatra, so that every pilgrim returns from Devbhoomi Uttarakhand with a positive and safe experience. Dhami directed the officials to ensure proper hospitality to the devotees and adequate arrangements of community kitchens (stores) throughout the route. He also directed the installation of adequate number of clean pink toilets for women devotees at all major places.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has achieved significant progress despite global challenges, and Uttarakhand has also seen remarkable development across all sectors,” the Chief Minister said. He said pilgrimage and tourism continue to strengthen the state’s economy.
The month of ‘Saavan’ holds a special place in Hindu mythology. During this period devotees observe fast and pray to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. Chanting Shiva mantras, singing bhajans (devotional songs), and performing Rudrabhishek (ceremonial bathing of the Shivalinga with sacred substances) are common practices celebrated with enthusiasm in homes and temples during the month of ‘Saavan’.
