New Delhi [भारत]July 27 (ANI): The Special Fast Track Court at Rouse Avenue on Monday directed the concerned Prosecution Director to appoint a prosecutor to represent the State (CBI) in the NEET UG paper leak case.
Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga adjourned the hearing on the bail plea of Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal after he observed that no one appeared from the CBI side. Now this case will be heard on August 3.
On Monday, the bail applications of Dinesh Biwal and Vikas came up for hearing before the special fast track court set up under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. This was the first hearing by the Special Fast Track Court in the NEET UG paper leak case. However, the proceedings were adjourned to the next date. Advocate AP Singh appeared on behalf of the accused persons.
All related cases will be transferred to special court
On July 23, a fast track court was set up at Rouse Avenue Court to hear cases under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 and other related offences. All related cases will be transferred to special designated fast track courts.
Earlier on July 17, the earlier court had sought response from CBI on the bail plea of Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal.
What are the allegations of CBI?
Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal are among the 13 accused arrested by the CBI for the alleged crime of leaking NEET UG paper before the scheduled date of the exam. All the accused persons are in judicial custody till August 6.
An FIR was registered on May 12, 2026, on a complaint lodged by a government official under sections of the BNS, Prevention of Corruption Act and offenses like use of unfair means in examinations etc.
CBI alleges that Mangilal Biwal had contacted Shubham Khairnar to obtain NEET question paper for his son Vikas Biwal. Question papers have been recovered from the mobile phone of Mangilal Biwal. The agency said Mangilal had obtained the leaked NEET UG paper from Yash Yadav in a deal worth Rs 10 lakh.
During interrogation, Mangilal’s son Vikas Biwal said that he had come in contact with Yash Yadav during coaching in Sikar, Rajasthan. It is alleged that Mangilal Biwal had contacted Shubham Khairnar for the question paper for his son Vikas Biwal. Subsequently, a larger chain was formed with other accused persons.
It is also alleged that Shubham first leaked the paper to Yash, then Yash to Mangilal, Mangilal to Vikas and Vikas to Dinesh Biwal. It is also alleged that Mangi Lal sold the leaked paper to various candidates for Rs 12 lakh each.
The court had allowed accused Yash Yadav to appear for the NEET UG exam to be held on June 21 and attend his sister’s wedding on June 22 in judicial custody. (ANI)
