There is severe tension in France after PSG became the champion of UEFA Champions League. The celebration of PSG’s victory took the form of violence, after which more than 400 people were caught and detained by the police across the country. There is news of 7 policemen also being injured during this period. According to the Interior Minister of France, 416 people have been detained across the country, out of which 283 people have been detained in Paris alone. PSG’s victory celebration turned tense when clashes broke out between its supporters and police in Budapest.
French government strict on violence, 7 policemen injured
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez informed that 7 policemen were also injured in the clash. He also said that violence will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those who do so. To prevent the situation from worsening, 22,000 police officers have been deployed across the country, out of which 8,000 police officers have been kept in Paris alone.
Supporters on the street after PSG’s victory, created ruckus
PSG won the UEFA Champions League in a shootout in a thrilling final. Police said that after PSG’s victory, about 20,000 supporters came out on the streets. They created a traffic jam on the Ring Road of Paris and also damaged 6 vehicles.
1 lakh supporters will gather in PSG’s victory parade
The tension created after the UEFA Champions League final also raised questions on the security system of France. However, the Interior Minister opposed those criticisms and described France’s security system as robust. This was just a celebration of victory. PSG’s victory parade is also to be held near the Eiffel Tower on Sunday, in which around 1 lakh supporters will gather. In such a situation, dealing with him will be a big challenge for the police.
