The actor will be seen playing the lead role of Pawan in the family comedy. Raj Anadkat’s recent stint with Gujarati TV show

Speaking about his break from Hindi television and his stint in the , Raj shared that he wanted to explore something different. “It was fun, actually. I just wanted to try and experiment something with my work profile. If you see, majorly my fan base is Gujarati, so I just wanted to give them a return gift in this way. So I did that show and it was fun exploring that side also of the industry, the Gujarati regional industry. It was fun, and then I also got a lot of love and recognition from that show as well.”

Now back on SAB TV, Raj says he couldn’t be happier about his new project. “First of all, I’m super duper excited for this show. This show is a full family entertainer comedy show. It celebrates the unbreakable bond of the family. That’s so good. It’s quite interesting.”

Talking about his character Pawan, Raj revealed that while the role is relatable, it also comes with emotional depth. “If we talk about the character, Pawan is around 24-25 years old. At this age, most people think of chasing their dreams and fulfilling them. But here, Pawan gets a lot of responsibility from his siblings. What I like about this character is that he’s not perfect in everything. I also feel good about this character because in real life also, I’m just the same way in how I behave and live my life.”

Raj Anadkat on comedy being his forte

Comedy has always been a defining feature of SAB TV, and Raj believes Papa Kehte Hai stays true to that legacy while keeping the humour natural. “We are trying our best to make this show as much comedy as possible. I have a lot of comedy in my blood. One more good thing is that our director, Dharmesh Mehta, is also a comedy king. When we are doing our scenes and reading the script, even while shooting, we try to add comedy not forced comedy, not slapstick comedy, but in a natural way. We try our best to make it entertaining. So people are going to love this show, for sure.”

With a relatable protagonist, family emotions and organic humour at its core, Papa Kehte Hain marks Raj Anadkat’s much-awaited return to SAB TV, and the actor is confident the audience will embrace the show with the same love they have always shown him.
