Neeraj’s first throw was 84.85 meters, which was enough to reach him to the finals on Thursday 18 September. The qualifying mark for the final was 84.50 meters. Neeraj crossed it in the first attempt without putting more emphasis and made a place in the title round. Neeraj did not throw again after this and decided to save Energy for the finals along with his fitness.

These players also qualified

Apart from Neeraj from Group A, 2 more players obtained direct qualification. Julian Weber of Germany qualified with a throw of 87.21 meters in his second attempt. He won the title by defeating Neeraj in the Diamond League final last month. At the same time, Dawed Wagner of Poland also threw a career best and made it to the finals with 85.67 meters. Sachin Yadav of India made all three attempts and his best was 83.67 meters. Top-12 players will get entry in the final. After the qualification round of Group B, if Sachin comes in the top-12, he will also play in the final.
