Adhik Maas Purnima 2026 Snan Daan: In Sanatan Dharma, Purnima Tithi is considered to have special religious and spiritual significance. This day is considered very auspicious for the worship of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. At the same time, when the full moon comes in Adhikamas, its importance increases manifold. Adhikamas is considered to be the favorite month of Lord Vishnu, hence the chanting, penance, worship, bathing and charity done during this period gives special results.
In the year 2026, Adhikamas Purnima fast was observed on 30th May, Saturday, while on 31st May also due to the influence of Purnima Tithi, devotees are taking bath in holy rivers, donating and performing religious rituals. What is the special significance of Adhikamas Purnima?
According to beliefs, Adhikamas is called the best month of Lord Vishnu i.e. ‘Purushottam month’. Sri Hari himself has given his name to this month, hence the worship done during this period gives a direct ticket to Baikunth Dham. Purnima Tithi is anyway associated with Moon and Mother Lakshmi, but due to it falling in Adhikamas, donations made on this day can erase the sins of your seven births. According to astrology, the full moon of Adhikamas is like a boon for those people who lack money in their horoscope, have mental stress or luck is not on their side.
