I am a father, I can’t see this happening…Irfan Pathan bursts out after what happened with Vaibhav Suryavanshi – News Himachali News Himachali

The way Vaibhav Suryavanshi played against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2026 won everyone’s heart. He fought till the end but could not lead Rajasthan Royals to victory. After scoring 97 runs in the IPL 2026 Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad, this 15 year old young player also played a brilliant inning of 96 runs in 47 balls in the Eliminator against Gujarat Titans.

On the basis of this innings, the team scored 214 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Shubman Gill’s century overshadowed Suryavanshi’s hard work and Gujarat Titans achieved the target in 18.4 overs.

Even though Suryavanshi scored runs at a strike rate of 204.26, maturity was clearly visible in his innings. When the entire top and middle order flopped, Suryavanshi took the responsibility and took the team to a respectable score. During this, he had to face the fast bowling of Kagiso Rabada and Mohammad Siraj. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan expressed concern over bodyline bowling against Suryavanshi.

Irfan Pathan wrote on X, “Bodyline bowling to stop 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi does not seem right to me. I know he is playing against big players, but as a father I do not agree with it.”

Captain Shubhman Gill scored a brilliant century on Friday (May 29) to give Gujarat a big win over Rajasthan by seven wickets. His team managed to reach the IPL final for the third time in five seasons. Now in the final, Gujarat Titans will face defending champion Royal Challengers Bangalore in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Just a few days ago, the same team had defeated the Titans in Dharamshala. Gujarat has made it to the finals thrice since its first season in 2022 and had also won the trophy in the very first year.
