Commonwealth Games 2026 Medals Tally List: India won its first gold medal on the fourth day of Commonwealth Games 2026. As expected, the one who won that gold medal was India’s star weightlifter Mirabai Chanu. The gold he won had an impact on India’s position in the medal tally. India won its first medal in para powerlifting

At the beginning of the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, India had won only 1 medal in the first 3 days of the Games. India’s Jhandu Kumar had won the bronze medal for India in Para Powerlifting. He had won that medal in the men’s heavyweight category. With that one medal, India remained at number 9 for the first 3 days. But, after that, on the fourth day, India won 3 medals one after the other in weightlifting.

Won 3 medals including 1 gold in weightlifting

Weightlifter Rishikanta Singh won the silver medal for India in the men’s 60 kg weight category. In the women’s 48 kg weight category, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu gave the country its first gold in the 23rd Commonwealth Games. Apart from this, Indian weightlifter M. Raja won the silver medal in men’s 65 kg weight category.
