After losing 3 consecutive series, Team India got a success. Team India, which went on Zimbabwe tour to play T20 series, swept the country here 3-0. The Indian team defeated host Zimbabwe in a one-sided manner in all three matches of this series and lifted the trophy. But while Indian players remained top in batting and bowling, they were so poor in fielding that they felt ashamed. In the last match, Team India dropped a total of 5 catches, out of which only one bowler was disappointed 3 times.
5 catches dropped in the third match
In the last match of the series played in Harare Indian team Scored 192 runs on the basis of Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive innings. Then all the bowlers including Mayank Yadav and Yash Thakur together restricted Zimbabwe to just 157 runs. In this way, Team India won this match by 35 runs. By winning this series, Team India put a break on its losing streak but the level of fielding seemed to have fallen this time too.
In the last match, Indian players dropped a total of 5 easy catches, which included gloved wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, who dropped the easiest catch. Vice-captain Tilak Verma also disappointed with his fielding. Apart from these two, Vaibhav Suryavanshi also dropped a catch, which was a bit difficult. However, he took a sharp catch on the very first ball of the innings. Apart from these, fast bowler Mayank Yadav and substitute fielder Harsh Dubey also gave one life each.
After England, bad fielding in Zimbabwe too
Overall, Team India dropped 7 easy catches in this entire series. In the second match, Indian players gave two lives to Zimbabwe. But not only catches but Indian fielders also missed 3 run out chances in this series. In this way, Team India showed kindness to the Zimbabwean batsmen and gave up 10 chances to take wickets. In contrast, only one catch was dropped by Zimbabwe in the entire series.
Now, even though Team India has won the trophy, the declining level of fielding is a matter of concern for the team management. A matter of concern because this situation has not happened only in this one series, but a similar situation was seen on the previous England tour also. Then Indian fielders had dropped 5 catches in the T20 series. Earlier, even while playing in IPL, all these players had repeated these mistakes in fielding many times.
