Bus full of devotees meets with accident near Shahtalai, two dead, many injured
Shahtalai. In a horrific road accident on Sunday near Shahtalai, the holy place of Baba Balak Nath ji, a bus full of devotees from Punjab went out of control and overturned. In this tragic accident, two devotees died, while a large number of passengers were injured. After the accident, there was an outcry at the spot and an atmosphere of chaos was created in the entire area.
According to the information, the bus (number PB-03BJ-9755) had come to Shahtalai from Amritsar in Punjab to give the devotees darshan of Baba Balak Nath Ji. After the darshan, the devotees were returning back to Amritsar when suddenly near Shahtalai the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and the bus overturned on the road.
As soon as information about the accident was received, the team of Police Station Talai, members of Taxi Union Shahtalai and local people reached the spot without wasting time and started relief and rescue operations. The devotees trapped in the bus were taken out and immediately sent to various hospitals for treatment through private vehicles and taxis.
According to eyewitnesses, there was no immediate treatment facility available at the Community Health Center Shahtalai at the time of the accident, due to which the injured had to be taken to other hospitals.
District Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar confirmed the accident and said that two people have died in the accident. Police, administration, taxi union and local people together remained engaged in relief and rescue work. All the injured are being provided immediate treatment, while the police has started investigating the cause of the accident.
