New Delhi [भारत]July 26 (ANI): A meeting of leaders of opposition parties in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha will be held on Monday at 10 am at the office of the Leader of Opposition (LoP) of the Rajya Sabha in Parliament. In this meeting, the future strategy to be adopted during the ongoing monsoon session will be considered.
The monsoon session will continue normally from Monday following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following massive protests by the Cockroach Janata Party and students.
Government will bring a new bill to stop paper leaks
The government is set to introduce the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 in the Lok Sabha on Monday as part of its efforts to prevent future paper leaks in competitive examinations. Union Minister Jitendra Singh will present this bill in the Lok Sabha.
This bill has stringent penal provisions to deal with any case of paper leak. According to the listed agenda of the Lok Sabha for Monday, Jitendra Singh will also move for passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 after it is introduced in the House.
Key features of the bill
The bill introduces seven key amendments, designed to plug enforcement loopholes, set up a dedicated judicial machinery and speed up criminal trials. The proposed law seeks to make significant changes to the 2024 framework by setting strict timelines for both investigations and judicial proceedings.
State Governments and Union Territory Administrations shall have the power to designate Sessions Courts as special fast-track courts exclusively dedicated to the trial of offenses under this Act. According to the provisions of the Bill, proceedings in special fast-track courts are to be conducted on a day-to-day basis, and it is mandatory to conclude the trial within three months from the date of filing of the charge sheet.
