The strength of the deal with Britain will be visible! India’s exports estimated to reach $115 billion

free trade agreement

The impact of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) implemented between India and Britain can be clearly visible on Indian business and employment in the coming years. According to a report by industry organization Assocham, due to this agreement, India’s exports to Britain can increase to $115 billion by 2030. At present, the total trade between the two countries is estimated to be $58 billion in 2025-26.

According to the report, after the India-UK FTA which came into effect from July 15, 2026, trade between the two countries is expected to increase rapidly. Assocham says that if India takes advantage of this opportunity properly, the total trade can almost double to 115 billion dollars by 2030. Along with this, 7 lakh to 10 lakh new employment opportunities can also be created in the country.

Indian companies will face these challenges

However, ASSOCHAM has also said that to take full advantage of this potential growth, Indian companies will have to meet global standards. They will have to follow the quality of products, necessary certification, ‘Rules of Origin’ and international sustainability standards.

MSME and engineering sector will benefit the most

Assocham President Nirmal K. According to Minda, the engineering goods sector is expected to get the biggest benefit from this agreement. This will provide new export opportunities to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and will also accelerate employment generation.

He said that reforms in ease of doing business, better infrastructure and investment in strong supply chain will play an important role in increasing India’s competitiveness. Experts believe that if Indian industries are successful in meeting these standards, the India-UK FTA can prove to be a big gamechanger for the country’s exports and economic growth.
