Actress Shagufta Ali revealed that Govinda used to rehearse up to 25 times for a scene. He described him as a bigger perfectionist than Aamir Khan and shared many interesting stories.
Aamir Khan is often called ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ in Bollywood, but veteran actress Shagufta Ali has a different opinion. Recently, while sharing his experience of working with Govinda, he claimed that Govinda was one step ahead of Aamir Khan in terms of perfection. Shagufta told that during the shooting of ‘Hero No. 1’, Govinda used to rehearse a scene 25 times and kept taking retakes until he was completely satisfied. He also narrated many interesting stories related to the set.
Why did Shagufta Ali call Govinda a bigger perfectionist than Aamir Khan?
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Shagufta Ali said, “Govinda used to rehearse 25-25 times. According to me, he is a bigger perfectionist than Aamir Khan. David Dhawan used to okay one take, but Govinda still wanted to shoot again. He used to apologize to the rest of the actors, but did not rest until he got the perfect shot. It doesn’t matter to him whether the actor in front is tired or not. Had to pay.”

What did Shagufta Ali tell about the shooting of ‘Hero No. 1’?
Shagufta said that the shooting of ‘Hero No. 1’ was no less than a paid picnic. He said, “Whether Govinda and Karisma were on the set or not, we all had a lot of fun. The outdoor shoot in Ooty was amazing. We stayed in Mithun da’s hotel. When he came to know about it, he himself came to meet us and served us seafood cooked with his own hands.”
Shagufta Ali made a big revelation regarding Govinda’s late arrival.
Shagufta Ali told that Govinda often reached late for shooting. He said, “If there was a 9 am shift, Govinda would come by 1 or 2 pm only. This was his habit. Apart from this, he was a very nice person and a very fun-loving artiste.” Shagufta told that late actor Kader Khan used to get very angry when Govinda came late. Other actors present on the set were also worried, but they had no other option but to wait.

Govinda’s tutti used to speak in the 90s
