Aston Martin Vantage S Revealed, No Manual Still!

Aston Martin has taken the wraps off the Vantage S. There are a lot of changes done to it but there is still no manual transmission of the Vantage which was earlier promised by the CEO. The Vantage S however is more sportier and while the visual changes are minimal, there are a lot of changes which have taken place in terms of the suspension and also the powertrain.

Lets start with the visual changes which are mostly functional as well and have improved the aerodynamics of the vehicle. Aston has not gone over the top with large wings and big diffusers but made subtle improvements which keeps the beautiful silhouette of the vehicle. There are centrally mounted blades on the hood, a new option for 21-inch forged wheels and a decklid spoiler. There are also red accents and on the interior, the S gets some new trim pieces and stitching which is specific to the S model.

The engine is still the same Mercedes-AMG sourced 4.0L bi-turbo V8 which now produces 671 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. Power goes to just the rear wheels via an 8-speed ZF automatic torque converter transmission. This allows the Vantage S to do 0-100 kmph in 3.3 seconds and it can achieve a top speed of 325 kmph.

The bigger changes however, are done to the suspension of the Vantage S. It gets revised Bilstein DTX dampers, there are new springs at the rear and the sub-frame has now been mounted directly to the chassis. Elsewhere, there are new adjustments to the alignment of the vehicle and the rear is overall softer. This provides more agility, steering feel, better low speed dampening and more stability while doing high speeds in a straight line.

Prices have not been unveiled yet but this is going to be quite a bit expensive than the regular Vantage. Now we only have to wait for the manual version of this which is not a limited run model.
