Delhi Special Intensive Revision: After Bihar, now the Election Commission has started the SIR process in Delhi. The 2002 voter list has been released on the CEO website. People have been appealed to see their names in the list.

Delhi sir begun: The voter list is going to be amended in Delhi. For this, the Election Commission has started the process. Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) announced on Wednesday that preparations for special intensive revision (SIR) have started.

The process of SIR in Delhi has started at a time when it is going to be completed in Bihar. In Bihar, the names of the people on a large scale have been cut from the voter list. Due to this, political dispute is going on. The case is in the Supreme Court. Around 1.56 crore people were included in the voter list published in January before the February 2025 assembly elections in Delhi.

2002 voter list uploaded on Delhi CEO website

The Delhi CEO office has reported that the last time the voter list was investigated in Delhi in 2002. The 2002 voter list has been uploaded on the Delhi CEO website. People are requested to see it to confirm the names of themselves and their parents. This will be helpful in collecting calculation forms and necessary documents from the public by going door-to-door by the BLO (booth level officer) during SIR.

If there is a name in both 2002 and 2025 list, what to do?

Those whose names are in both 2002 and 2025 list will have to submit only calculation forms (form given by BLO) and a fraction of the 2002 voter list. If the current voter’s name is not in the 2002 voter list, but his parents have a name to prove his eligibility to be a voter and a fraction of the 2002 voter list regarding his parents.

At present, it is not clear which documents the Election Commission will accept to prove their eligibility from the voters of Delhi. Under the preparations for intensive revision in Delhi, BLO has been appointed in all assembly constituencies. Necessary training has been given to all officers, district election officers, electoral registration officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and BLOs. The boundaries of the current constituency have also been mapping with the 2002 constituency limits.
