CJP Protest Latest News: CJP’s agitation which has been going on for 49 days at Jantar Mantar in Delhi has ended. The organization has announced this after all three demands were accepted by the government.
CJP Protest End: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) agitation, which was going on for the last 49 days at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, has now been ended with immediate effect. After the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, an important consensus was reached in three rounds of talks between the government and CJP. The organization claims that all three of its major demands have been accepted by the government. However, CJP has made it clear that the movement has been withdrawn in ‘good faith’ for the time being and now the implementation of the government’s promises will be awaited.
CJP’s movement ended after 49 days
The CJP protest, which started on June 6, was officially ended today on Saturday. Chief spokesperson of the organization Saurav Das said that this decision was taken after three consecutive rounds of talks with the government. He said that the agitation has been withdrawn because the government has given positive assurance on the major demands. Now these decisions are expected to be implemented within the stipulated time frame.
CJP’s first demand- Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation
The biggest demand of CJP was the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. After his resignation on Saturday, the organization said that its first and most important demand has been fulfilled. After this, the final round of talks proceeded between the government and CJP.
CJP’s second demand – FIRs registered against protesters will be withdrawn
The second demand of CJP was to withdraw all the FIRs registered against the protesters and organizers involved in the movement. The organization says that the government has assured action on the cases registered not only in Delhi but also in the states ruled by BJP and allies. According to CJP, copies of about 15 to 20 FIRs registered in Delhi will be made available to him in the next 3 to 4 days. Besides, the government can also give written assurance by Tuesday.
CJP’s third demand – compensation to the families of NEET victims
CJP had demanded ₹1 crore compensation for the families of students who lost their lives following the NEET paper leak. The government has said that under the applicable rules, a process will be adopted to provide honorable financial assistance to the affected families. The organization has described this as positive growth on its third demand.
The government also gave great confidence in education reform.
During the meeting, CJP also handed over a five-point charter to the government to improve the education system and competitive examinations. The government has assured to study this charter and meet again with CJP representatives after about four weeks. In this meeting, suggestions related to education reform will be discussed in detail.
