CM Vishnu Dev Sai gave many gifts to the workers at the labor conference held in Raipur on Vishwakarma Jayanti. E-rickshaw and house construction assistance increased, announced free health check-up and gave ₹ 65.16 crore to 1.84 lakh workers from DBT.

Raipur, 17 September 2025. Addressing the Labor Mahasammelan held at the Indoor Stadium in the capital Raipur on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that the contribution of Shramvir in the construction and development of Chhattisgarh is incomparable. He described the workers as the backbone of the society and said that the dream of Chhattisgarh and developed India will be fulfilled by their hard work.

Appreciation of the contribution of workers

The Chief Minister appreciated the dedication and hard work of the workers. He said that the hard work and participation of the Shramvir will fulfill the dreams of the people of the state. On this occasion, he greeted Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti and wished Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on his birthday and wished him a longevity life.

New announcements for workers

  • During the program, the Chief Minister made several new announcements for the workers-
  • The assistance of the Didi e-rickshaw scheme was increased from ₹ 1 lakh to ₹ 1.50 lakh.
  • Assistance for construction of house construction under the Construction Workers Assistance Scheme was increased from ₹ 1 lakh to ₹ 1.50 lakh.
  • The labor department will now bear the entire cost of free health checkup and treatment of registered workers.

Benefits of labor welfare schemes

The Chief Minister said that today an amount of more than ₹ 65.16 crore was sent to the accounts of 1,84,220 workers through DBT. This amount has been given under schemes like Didi e-rickshaw assistance scheme, Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana, Construction Labor Safety Equipment Scheme, Chief Minister Noni Empowerment Scheme and Scholarship Scheme. He said that the money of farmers and workers is now reaching direct accounts without middlemen.

Emphasis on education and skill development

The Chief Minister described education as the biggest strength for labor families. He mentioned-

  • Under the Atal Excellent Education Scheme, the children of workers are benefiting.
  • Free coaching of examinations like IIT, JEE, NEET and CA has been arranged.
  • Tribal hostel seats have been increased from 50 to 185 for students preparing for UPSC in Delhi.

New initiatives for workers

  • The E -ram portal has brought great relief to the workers.
  • Now on the death of the unregistered laborer at the workplace, the assistance of ₹ 1 lakh will be available.
  • Complaints are being resolved immediately from the website and helpline number “Shravev Jayate”.

Labor Minister address

Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan said that workers play an important role in the progress of the country. He informed that 72 schemes of Labor Department in Chhattisgarh are being operated through three divisions. The Chief Minister’s transfer of ₹ 65.16 crore to 1.84 lakh workers from DBT is a proof of transparency.

He announced that the seats of Atal Excellent Education Scheme would be increased from 100 to 200 from the next academic session.

Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Food Minister Mr. Dayal Das Baghel, Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, MP Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Rajesh Munat, Motilal Sahu, Anuj Sharma and many public representatives were present on the occasion. Also, officials of the labor department, the chairman of the commissions and a large number of workers attended.
