AAP MP Sanjay Singh described the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as a victory for the youth and students of the country. He said that the fight that started against paper leaks will now extend to securing employment and holding the government accountable.
New Delhi [भारत]July 25 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Saturday welcomed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, calling it a victory for the youth and students of the country. He stressed that the movement against exam paper leaks will now turn into a broader fight for employment and accountability.
In a post on Twitter, Singh congratulated the protesting students and youth, saying their persistent agitation forced the Center to take action. Singh posted, “Long live youth power, long live student power. In which direction the youth moves, the era moves in that direction. Due to their movement, crores of youth of the country woke up the Modi government which was sleeping in Kumbhkaran and forced the resignation of the Education Minister. The fight that started with the paper leak will extend to employment. After this, accountability for every mistake in the country will be fixed. Congratulations on the victory of the movement.”

In a video accompanying the post, the Rajya Sabha MP credited the nationwide student movement for forcing the government to accept the minister’s resignation. Singh said, “Long live youth power! Long live student power!… I want to salute crores of youth across the country. You have shown the Prime Minister of this country and this arrogant government that when the youth wakes up, the government is forced to break its Kumbhakarni slumber.”
Referring to the protests that took place in the last one month, he said the protests at Jantar Mantar and across the country as well as the hunger strike by social activist Sonam Wangchuk and protest leader Abhijit Dipke have strengthened the movement demanding the resignation of the Education Minister.
Singh further claimed that the government, which had opposed previous protests, was forced to bow before the students’ movement. He also urged the youth to continue their campaign in a constructive manner and said that the movement should now focus on securing employment and ensuring government accountability.
CJP’s protest continues, other demands also raised
His comments came after the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which is leading the agitation, welcomed Pradhan’s resignation but said the protest at Jantar Mantar would continue until all its demands were met.
Addressing the protesters after the announcement, CJP leader Abhijit Dipke said, “It was said that there are no resignations in this government. The world bends, we need someone to bend. We have done it,” calling it the first resignation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.

CJP’s remaining demands
According to Dipke, the remaining demands of the group include a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of students who committed suicide over exam-related issues and action against Delhi Police personnel accused of lathi-charge on protesters. CJP also demanded that no action be taken against the student protesters. (ANI)
What did Dharmendra Pradhan say on his resignation?
Pradhan, in his resignation letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said he was stepping down in the larger interest of students to ensure that the youth of the country “do not fall into the trap of confusion.”
Recalling the NEET-UG controversy, Pradhan said the Center had taken immediate action after irregularities came to light in the May 3 exam, including handing over the investigation to the CBI, canceling the exam, announcing re-examination and deciding to conduct the exam in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from next year.
The development comes a day after CJP representatives met Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh as part of discussions on the ongoing agitation. (ANI)
