The attitude of the Pakistan Cricket Board over the controversy over not joining hands in the match against India put the entire tournament in danger. The Pakistani Board had complained to the ICC of the match referee Andy Payakroft in this case and demanded the removal of them. But now there has been a shocking claim in Pakistani media. According to the report, PCB had also demanded action on Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav besides removing Picroft.

In Dubai, on September 14, there was a match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. During this match, Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistani captain Salman Ali Aga did not join hands during the toss. Then after the match, Team India refused to join hands with Pakistani players. PCB had fiercely cut a ruckus about this and complained to the ICC about the match referee. PCB had alleged that the referee had asked the captains not to join hands.

What did PCB speak from ICC?

But now a report by Pakistani news channel Sama has revealed that PCB had made two demands in its email sent to ICC. The first demand was to exclude Payakroft from the tournament. The second demand should be taken disciplinary action against Indian captain Surya. PCB alleged that Surya used this match for political rhetoric, which is strictly forbidden under the ICC rules and regulations. The ICC dismissed the demand for removal of Picroft but it is not clear whether the demand for action against Surya was accepted or not.

Suryakumar Yadav gave this statement

Pakistan had made this allegation on the statement of Suryakumar Yadav, which he gave after the victory of Team India. After the match, the Indian captain in the presentation ceremony had said that he and the entire team are standing with the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. Surya also saluted the Indian forces as well and dedicated this victory to him and said that the team would continue to try to make them happy with their performance.
