UPT20 defending champions Kasi Rudraj have completed their squad for Season 4. 6 new players were bought in the auction, of which Mohammad Sharim was the most expensive with Rs 17.50 lakh. There are now a total of 18 players in the team.
Agra (Uttar Pradesh) [भारत]July 25 (ANI): Kasi Rudraj has completed his squad for Season 4 after the UPT20 player auction in Agra on Friday. The team has added six new players to its retained core players so that they can defend their title.
According to a press release, after retaining 12 players ahead of the auction, Kashi Rudraj added Mohammed Sharim, Vaibhav Chaudhary, Vijay Yadav, Virat Jaiswal, Manav Sindhu and Sahab Yuvraj Singh to complete their 18-man squad for the upcoming season. Among the newly added players, all-rounder Mohammed Sharim emerged as the franchise’s biggest signing for Rs 17.50 lakh. The team has been further strengthened with the arrival of bowler Vaibhav Chaudhary, all-rounders Vijay Yadav and Virat Jaiswal as well as batsman Manav Sindhu and batsman Yuvraj Singh, giving the defending champions additional depth in all departments.
After the auction, Kashi Rudraj representative Sukhwinder Singh said, “We have been successful in adding the firepower we wanted to add and have accomplished what we had planned before going into the auction. Every season brings new challenges, and while we have been fortunate to win the title twice, we have to give our best. This is a hard-working group of boys, and we are excited to see what they can achieve together as a group.”
Initiative to strengthen cricket at grassroots level
Preparing for the new season, Kashi Rudraj has taken another step towards strengthening grassroots cricket with the launch of the Rudraj Cup. This is the first regional scouting tournament of its kind by a UPT20 franchise. This initiative, along with the franchise’s extensive player trials, gives budding cricketers another opportunity to showcase their talent to the Kasi Rudraj scouting team and further strengthens the pathway for emerging players to progress into the franchise setup.
After preparing their squad, the two-time champions will now turn their attention to preparing for the upcoming season.
