RRB Group D Exam Center Change: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the Exam City Intimation Slip 2026 for Group D Recruitment (CEN 09/2025). Candidates whose exam is scheduled to be held between August 3 to August 21, 2026, can now check their exam city through their login. Know what to do if you find a far away centre? Does RRB allow change of exam city?
The purpose of the Exam City Intimation Slip issued by RRB is only to inform the candidates about the exam city in advance, so that they can make arrangements for their travel and stay in time. As per the rules laid down by the Board, once the examination city is allotted, the option to change it is not available. That is, if a candidate’s center has come to another state or a distant city, then under normal circumstances the facility to change it is not given.
Then what should the candidate do?
First of all, there is no need to panic if your exam city is far away from home. Plan your journey as soon as you get the city slip. Book train or bus tickets well in time and, if necessary, make advance arrangements for accommodation near the examination centre. This can avoid last minute problems. Keep in mind that only Exam City Intimation Slip has been released right now. The complete address of the examination center and other important instructions will be given in the admit card (Admit Card RRB Group D Exam), which will be released a few days before the examination. So read all the instructions carefully while downloading the admit card.

Step 5: After login, your exam city information will appear on the screen.

RRB Group D Exam 2026: Vacancy, Exam Date and Shift Time
Under this recruitment drive, a total of 22,195 Group D posts will be recruited in Indian Railways. The Computer Based Examination (CBT) of RRB Group D will be held from 3 August 2026 to 21 August 2026. RRB Group D CBT exam will be conducted in three shifts.
- First (morning) shift: 9:00 am to 10:30 am
- Second (afternoon) shift: 12:45 pm to 2:15 pm
- Third (Evening) Shift: 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM
- This examination will be conducted at about 200 examination centers across the country.

The Computer Based Test (CBT) of RRB Group D will be of 90 minutes, in which 100 questions will be asked. It will include 25 questions from General Science, 25 from Maths, 30 from General Intelligence and Reasoning and 20 from General Awareness and Current Affairs. There will be negative marking of one-third (1/3) marks for each wrong answer and normalization will also be applied in the final result.
